Theft Deterrent
Security coding is a process in which a chemical solution is used to etch numbers into windows of a vehicle, which cannot be removed.
The numbers are then entered into a national database with the customer's name, address, and phone number, as well as the vehicle's year, make, model and V.I.N.
Although no security system will ensure that your car won't be stolen, some systems are more effective than others. Security coding's effectiveness is based on a number of factors. One, no thief wants to steal a vehicle that could potentially be traced back to him. Two, because of the etched glass, you have reduced the resale value of the vehicle to the thief and the system cannot be removed or disarmed as can traditional alarm systems.
